LACP's First Annual "The Creative Portrait" Exhibition
One of the most rewarding experiences about being a photographer is that you get to work with some pretty talented people. Sometimes those collaborations result in your work being exhibited.
The below image was shot at the new Arts District Los Angeles Photo Collective in downtown Los Angeles. It was a collaboration with costume designer Heather Lerma of Heather's Pretty World. In the photo, Heather's daughter Gretchen is wearing the tutu which Heather created for the "dream scene" in the ballet Raymonda. Gretchen is a beautiful dancer. I am pleased with the way the image captures her quiet beauty and grace.
The exhibition was juried by award-winning photographer Art Streiber. 141 photographers submitted entries for the exhibition, representing over 800 works of art. Of these, 53 images were chosen from 41 different artists.
Opening reception was held November 6th. The show runs through February 1, 2016. You can find additional details about LACP and about the exhibition itself on the LACP website.
